Tho steamer Kemuera, which arrive! fro-n T.-ondon on Saturday, has on board a pedigree Shorthorn bull and five ewes and five rams, mostly Sonthdowns. The stock is for Lincoln College, Canterbury. Mr. William Perry, of Penrose, who swept the board with his Lincoln and. Jioiinuy sheep at the Palmerslon and Hastings- show?, is this voek sending four T-iVMii ranis to Xow South Wales. The Agricultural Department i> s-ciirin , ; fleeces from Mr. Perry for exhibition in America. A young stag which has come down from the hills is (says the "Wairarana "Times") causing a considerable commotion among stock about Belvedere. Cows are terrified by the visitor and one or hvo have been 'hunted about and injured. . A prominent Hanawatu breeder is reporter! to have given it as his opinion that the present reason is tho worst experienced for twenty years from the viewpoint of the exhibitor of stock, this being due to the dry autumn, and early frosts, causing.a scarcity of -winter feed. Recent rains, however, have brightened the prospects, and a gu'od growth is now noticeable throughout tho district.
