Ihe scholarship examination in connection with the plumbing class at tho Palnierston Teehnical School was held yesterday. There were three candidates, 111# examiners being Messrs. The Palmerston Technical School held its second annual sports gathering at the sports grounds yesterday afternoon, in fine but windy iveathe-. The arrangements were very complete, hut although a good afternoon's sport va-> promised, and admission to the grounds free, thero was only a meagre attendance. Reakes, ('hirf Government Veterinarian, to the oll'i'ct that information hag been received from the High Commiflsioner in London stating that the. fleecea contributed by Mr. Lancaster lor the Ronbaix Exhibition have been awarded a "medaille d'or," and that the collectivo wool exhibit from New Zealand has been awarded a grand prize. Mr. Lancaster contributed one Southdown and one Jinglish Leicester ilecee.
