CROYDON SCHOOL SPORTS.
THE ANNUAL EVENTS. The annual athletic sports of the boys belonging to the Croydon Preparatory School, begun on Saturday morning, but postponed owing to tho heavy downpour of rain, were concluded on Tuesday morning at the residence of Miss Coates. On this occasion the weather was all that could be desired, but on Saturday the jumping was not so good as it has been owing to the grass becoming so wet that the boye could not got a good "take-off." J. Duncan had, in the high jump practices, jumped over i feet, but on Saturday his record camo down to 3ft. Tin. However, thfc evcutb on Tuesday were finished with much enthusiasm. Yesterday afternoon tho awarding of tho prizes by Miss Coates took place at the school, a very largo nuiubor of parents and relatives generally being present. The results of tho sports are as follow: School champion-Harris, 23 points, I; J. Duncan, 10 points, 2. Junior champion—Bayley, 20 points, 1; M. Duncan, 9 points, 2. Long jump (senior)— Harris, 12ft. Gin., 1; Dalziell, lift. 9Jin., 2. Long jump (junior)—Bayley, lift. 2in., 1; M. Duncan, 10ft. 9in., 2. High Jump (senior)—J. Duncan, Sffc 7in., 1; Harris, Bft. 6in.. 2.
