e . (From Our Special Corcospondent.) Masterton, November 8. The fortnightly meeting of tho Masterton Borough Council was held last ercuing, the chair being occupied by the Mayor (Mr. J. M. Fifty-five birds of the .Masterton Homing Pigeon Club, which took part in the race from Christchureh on Saturday last, have failed to reach home. The loss is a heavy one for members of the club. One farmer in tho Masterton district lost twenty-five newly-shorn sheep as a result of the southerly snap on Sunday last. Mr. F.
