Indeed, in his opinion, they would have between t'lio two islands 0110 of the best, if not the very best, steamer ferry services in tho world. It said much for the enterprise of Ihe Union Steam Ship Company that they were providing 11 second steamer, and Iho more no as they receive no subsidy whatever from the Govern, mont, beyond (lie payments for carrying tho mails, lie wished publicly to ni knowledge the appreciation of the Governmeilt of an enterprise which involved no doubt considerable financial risk- to the company and of what it had accomplished in this' respect,
