(Before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.) INTEMPERANCE CASES. Thomas Ellender, alias William Purlill, was fined ,E2 tor having boon drunk, and was also prohibited. Bruco M'Landcrs was similarly dealt with. A fine of <£1 was mudo against Joseph O'Hanlon on a charge of procuring liquor while prohibited. William Alexander Summons was fined ,S2 for breaking a prohibition order. John Laurence pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness. There 'were live convictions for intemperance against him in the last six months. He was sentenced to 21 days' imprisonment. Respecting a

1 charge of breaking a prohibition order he was convicted and discharged. ALLEGED THEFTS. A remand to Cambridge was made in the ca.=o of Frank Oliver Hampton, who was accused of having stolen .CI from the dwelling of William Harrington. Florence M'Annlly was sentenced to two months' imprisonment on a charge of having stolen three £5 notes from Ngaliui Farata. "ROGUE,"-AT LAW. James Rhodes, who had been found drunk in Tnranaki Street on Saturday, was sent to prison for one year for boing an incorrigible rogue, having insufficient lawful means of support. He had been convicted as an idle and disorderly person on September 29, and as a rogue and a vagabond on .May 22.' UNLICENSED. Doris Harris was fined v£2 for retaining an infant in her care for more than seven days, in consideration of payment, without being licensed as a foster parent. Mr. 11.I 1 . W. Jackson, who appeared for the defendant, explained that she had t'aken the child to oblige the mother who had expressed a wish to go away to see a sick relative. OTHER CASES. Eva Brown was ordered to pav Is. Gd. respecting each of her three children who are in the Wellington Receiving Home. William Goodwin was fined £4 for having used certain language. A remand to November S was granted in a case in_which Augustus Flux was charged with intentionally causing Patrick Joseph M'Kay bodily harm.
