THE LODGES.
The Eclipse Lodge of Good Templars held its usual session Inst Friday evening Bro. G. Harris, P.C.T., presiding. Tho officers' reports showed the membership as 21. One new member was initiated. Kegret was expressed at the departure of Jiro. J. Jr. Donn for Christchurch, and a. motion expressing appreciation of his services was carried unanimously. Routine matters were dealt with, and trustees appointed. The installation of officers will take place next meeting, iu conjunction with "Brothers' Night." Mrs. Van Cottle was fond of tho hottle, But pray don't imagine that sho Was addicted to drink', for I really don't think Sho imbibed any stronger than tea. But the bottle she swore by, and set so much store by, Was one that you value, I'm sure. On the label was Woods, to distinguish the goods, "Twas tho famous "Great Peppormint Cure."—Advt. The rainfall of a village among tho hills of Assam during tho tea weeks from Jlav 1 to July !) tin's year was 250iis. The village is Cherrapunji, the raincst spot in Asm, and presumably in the world.
