ROSENEATH RATEPAYERS.

A successful "social'' and dance , was held last week by the Tfoscncath and Oriental Bay Hate-payers' Municipal Association. Mr. T. W. Ward presided. The chairman, in his opening remarks, traced the history of the district since the inception of the association, and, in pointing out the many advantages accruing to residents through their connection with such an institution, appealed for their co-operation in securing further necessary improvements.

Tho following contributed to an enjoyable, programme:—Songs by Messrs. Pinchers, M'lllraith, Fletcher ,and Lillicrap; violin and pianoforte solos by Mr. M'lllraith and Master Adams. Messrs. Smith, Shakes, and Taylor contributed recitations. Refreshments and dancing brought the evening to a close. Mr. Staintou presided at the piano.
