WELLINGTON CANDIDATE: ME. HALL-JONES. Mr. I\ G. Hall-Jones, son of tho Eon. Wm. Hall-Jones, High Commissioner for New Zealand, will bo the Wellington candidate for the Rhodes Scholarship this year. Mr. Hall-Jones received his primary education in Tiraaru, and in both of the schools he attended thcro took a high position. Since coming to Wellington ho has taken up tlio study of law and advanced mathematics, and this year is sitting for his B.A. degree aud tho 6ocond section of the LL.B. degree. Only recently he won tho Plnnket modal for oratory. Mr. Allan Wallace, 8.A., has been selected as the Auckland candidate for the same scholarship. OTAGO: MR. M. ONGLBY, B.A. The Professorial Board of Otago University has selected Mr. Montague Ongley, B.A. as the Olago candidate for the Rhodes Scholarship.
