Iho following have been nominated ns candidates to represent the combined Featherston and Martinborough Town Districts on the Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board;— Messrs. H Yelverton, of Featherston, and G. T. Bennett, of llartinborough. Ono representatiye only is required, and an election will take place on November 8. Messrs. A. D. M'Leod and H. Morison have been nominated to (ill two vacancies for representatives of the Featherston County. A general election of cumcillavs for the Featherston County will take place on November 8. The fo .lowing have been nominated to represent the several ridings:—Featherston, Q. Donald; Western Lake, A. Matthews; - Fahutam, A.. Hannay; Otaraia, 1-'. E. Perry; Turanganui, \V. Hume; Pahaoa, A. D. M'L«od; Martinborough, John Martin; Aahea,- D. H. S. Riddiforu. For the Greytovn Riding, Messrs. A. M. Wilkinson and W. J. Nix havo been nominated, and a closo contest is expected. Both havo served on previous councils, and tho fj mer hi-s taken a prominent part in the intended extension of tho 'Moron water-race scheme.
Indications are apparent of a keen fight on the licensing question in the South Wairarapa electorate. Both sides have for some time past been actively working throughout tho district. Although several of the addresses given by NoLicense speakers have not attracted largo audiences, members of the party state that they are confident of winning.
