A car l>clonging to a Native named Niniwa, and driven by IT. Cioodin, was proceeding to Masterto'n with a party of Grcytown ladies—Misses Webster (2), White, and Wendon, and a male friend. Just beyond the Taratahi Hotel n dog got under the wheels, and the effect was to capsize tile car. All the occupants except tho driver were thrown out. lie pfuckily kept his seat, and switched off the gear. The other male occupant was pinned under the car. but luckily escaped unhurt. All tho ladies rcccivc-d a severe shaking and bruises. One of Ihcm (Miss Webster) sustained an injury to her arm. A car, sent from llughnn's garage, took the passengers back home. 'J'ho overturned car was considerably damaged, but tlio engine was sufficiently intact to enable it to bo driven back lo town.
