MUSIC STUDENTS.
« ROYAL ACADEMY EXAMINATIONS. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES. For a fortnight past, Mr. Douglas Kedrnau has been engaged in Wellington conducting music examinations of candidates in practical work on behalf of the Associated Boar<l of the Royal Academy of Music and tho Royal College of Music, London. Tho examiner reports that tho general standard of tho work in Wellington is satisfactory, and he has been much impressed by the earnestness displayed by teachers in the serious pursuit of their art, and by the sincerity aud naturalness of the candidates examined in Wellington and other New Zealand centres. The number of candidates entered in Wellington was 152, of whom 119 passed (five wcro absent). The results of four candidates are withheld, pending the completion oi the theory examination. Theso figures givo 83 per cent, of passes, a' better result than has been the case for some years past. The successful candidates are as follow
