Miss Mac':ay (Nelson) passed through Wellington on hei way south, where she will bo tho guest of Mrs. Reid, of Heathcote. Miss Mackerras (Dunedin) is in town, and is staying with Mrs. Grey, Kelburne. Mr. and Mrs. F. Barraud have let their house on the Terrace, and aro staying at Kenilworth. They intend leaving for England on November 17. Dr. Wallis, formerly Bishop of Wellington, is, in obedience to medical orders, taking life very quietly for .a month or two, but is already much better (says the "Church Chroniclc"). Mrs. Wallis is in tho best of health, and was in London recently, attending meetings of tho'Girls' Friendly Society. Dr. Wallis, who has been licensed to the Archdeaconry of Wilts, is to help the Bishop of Salisbury in his episcopal work, but is not undertaking any parochial duties. Tho Bishop' and Mrs. Wallis are staying at Clifton, Bristol, at present, but aro looking for a homo near Trowbridge, or Westbury. Mr. and Mrs. J. Tripe were passengers bv the Maori last evening for Christchurch.
