PRELIMINARY SURVEY. THE HONOURS WON YESTERDAY. i(By Tclozraph.-Special Correspondent.! Palmerston, October 31. The Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Show will open to-morrow morning. The indications nre that this yenr the show will not only hold its own with its predecessors in quality, but, in some respeecs will ba a considerable advance. In cattle, for instance, the.!.. display of former years will probably lie excelled, one especially fine, feature being Holsieins—a breed very much favoured at present. Horses will form one of tho most popular departments of the show, and full refereuce to them ;"and other classes will bo made as the judging proceeds. So far the school, art, needlework, and Technical School sections only have been judged. The weather promises to be delightfully fine, and the indications poiut to a record attendance. A number of tJio public school awards occupied the judges to-day, and awards were made in these classes. - ■ ■« . Art and Fancy Needlework, Tho judge in the art and fancy needlework classes (Mrs. M.
