MASTERTON NOTES
IBj TcleeraDh.— Special CorresDondcnU Masterton, October 31 An incipient fire was discovered in Hie premises of Messrs. 6. H. Perry and Co. at 9.30 to-night. Tho flames were extinguished by the use of a fire extinguisher before much damage- was done. Some person or persons are evidently indignant ait the change of the name of tho Kuripuni Railway Station, as the new name—Purakau—on the front of the station has been obliterated with tar. Twenty-three births, six deaths, and four marriages have been registered in Masterton during the month of October.
