OBITUARY.
MR. JOSEPH PULITZER. By Teleeraoh—Presb Association—Oopyrlehk New York, October 30. Mr. Joseph Pulitzer, proprietor of the New York "World," died aboard his yacht.
Mr. Joseph Pulitzer, of the "New York World," was ono of the most successful journalists in tho world. Hβ began at the lowest point, and in tho early years of his editorship of tho "World never worked less than twenty hours a day. His untiring energy at last met with reward. Slowly but surely the luck of the paper turned, and after the turn its progress was rapid. Mr. Pulitzer's incoino was stated latterly to exceed .£200,000 a year. His exertions brought on blindness, but lie partially, recovered. Ho spent much of his time in Paris, where ho had a large mansion. He used to tell, with some gusto, that as a poor emigrant lad he once stood shivering outside the Tuileries Palace whilo an Imperial fete was in progress. In has later years ho bought to adorn his wife, tho most beautiful of tho Crown jewels of France.
