SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications arc for a falling barometer in the southern districts and 'elsewhere after 24 hours. Fair and warm weather will probably prevail except on the West Coast and southernmost districts of >the South Island, where showery weather is to be expected. Westerly breezes generally, and changing to northerly and increasing strong to gale shortly southward of New Plymouth end Oastlepoint. A low pressure is due to pass in the south about Thursday. High pressure prevail? in the north, and the Tjarometer rose slightly above normal In the southern districts ooi Sunday, but has fallen again to-day. DISTRICT REPORTS, (From Our Special Correspondents.) Wanganui, October 30.—Dull, disagreeable weather. The strong westerly has continued, with heavy sea along the coast. , Feilding, October 30.—Ram in tho night; fine, cold windy day and night. Palmers ton, October 30. —Fine, with occasional strong winds. Ot-aki, October 30.—Sunshine. Carterton, October 30— After several days of unsettled weather, a chanje for the brighter appears to have set in. A little rain full on Sunday night, but Monday morning broke beautifully line, the atmosphere at 5 a.m. being Keen enough for a frost. i'eatherston, October 30.—Fine warm day.
