NEW YORK TO WELLINGTON. Advico received by the local agents for the Tyscr Line announces the departure from New York, on October 15, of the steamer Star of Australia. Tile vessel is bound to Wellington, via way ports, and may be looked for here about December 28. NEREHANA DUE TO-MORROW. At 0 a.m. on Sunday tho Tyscr liner Ncrchana left Auckland for Wellington. She is en route from Liverpool, and is expected to arrive hero to-morrow morning. Captain Elven, late of the scow Ngaru, is to relieve Captain Fletcher on the steamer Hina, in tho Nelson-Golden liay trade. Captain Edwin is to join the Mauapouri as master. Mr. Smith, a third officer in j the Union Company's service, is at Wellington for orders. Mr. G. Thorp, late third officer of the Waipori, has passed the examination for mate of a foreign-going ship. Ifaving completed discharge of the Wellington portion of her cargo of case-oil, the Vacuum Oil Company's steamer, Lord Lonsdale, left for Lyttclton on Saturday afternoon. Shortly after 4 p.m. on Saturday, the Khaw-Savill steamer Kin On left. Wellington for Auckland. Homeward loading will be commenced at the northern port. Although the weather was One at Greymouth on Saturday, there was a very heavy sea running on tho bar, and tho Poherua was compelled to remain outside. Ip, consequence she is not now expected to reach Wellington before Wednesday. Owing to bad weather oil the East Coast the Haupiri's progress to Wellington lias been delayed, and she i-s not now expected to make port before Wednesday. Her subsequent movements arc not yet aimounocd. To-morrow the Union Company's coUier Kaiapoi is expected at Wellington with the usual West,port cargo. She will bo followed by the Koniata on Wednesday. On Saturday morning the Government traiiiHig-sliip AmoUura arrived at Picton from Wellington and Cook Strait. She loaves to-day for Cook Strait and tho Bluff. To-mori.jw, the Ilinomoa, the Government tender, leaves port for The Brothers and Jackson Head. Sho returns to Wellington before proceeding on lier northern lighthouse tour on Friday.
