• * HIGHER WAGES IN BRITAIN. By Telegraph—Press Associa{ion-Cop7rlEht London, October 27. The railway companies are increasing the wages of men in tho lower grades. This is a counter-stroke to the railway men's threatened strike against the Kailway Strike Commissioners' finding, and it is understood to bo a prelude to higher passenger and freight rates, which the Government' promised to sanction.
