The only fruits available at present are Tasmaniau and 'Californian apples, and with the scarcity of other fruit theje are expected to reach extrcinely high mtcs. A small shipment of Caliiornian apples is duo early next week. Local merchants do not expect that this week's Sydney steamer will bring any fruit across. At yesterday's sales at the Blair and Allen Streets markets, pineapples from Raroton.'ra sold at 10s. to lis,, Tasmania]* apples, 13s. to lis. Gd.; Miidura lemons sold at 7s. Od. to 10s., South Australian 10s. to 10s. Local tomatoes brought Is. to i Is. 3d. per lb.; beans, sd. to Bd. per lb.; cucumbers, Id. to Bd. each; e.irrots, 55.; Thubarb. Is. to Gs. dozen; turnips, 3s. 6d. sad:,-cabbage?, 4s. to 7s.
