\esterday afternoon the stewards of tho Wellington Kacing Club met for th» purpose of hearing C. Jenkins (rider of St. loney m the Nai Xai Handicap) in reply to an allegation by the starter that ho (the jockey) had been guilty of misbehaviour at the barrier. After Jenkins had given his explanation, the stewards administered a severe reprimand, and lined him .510, warning him that, in future similar circumstances, his license might be suspended.
Our special correspondent advises that 111 rim moved scratehily in the County Handicap at Gisborno on Thursday, anil never showed up in the race.
, Kill started a hot favourite in tho Flying Handicap at Gisborue on Thursday, and won from end to end. Our special correspondent reports that the San Fran mare is in splendid condition at tho present time.
Si verlyte, a half-brother (by Birkenhead) to Goldiinder, wa.s among (he starters at tho Gisborno meeting. Ho was making his first appearance since winning lit Takapuua last year. Silverlyto is coming on nicely, and should get on tho winning list again shortly.
Mr. I. Halls Waiorenia, a neat littlo filly by Glenapp from Tauhei, and therefore half-sister to Iranni, was riddeu by A. Whitt&ker when sho won her races at Gisborno on Thursday and Friday (telegraphs our correspondent). She made her lirsl appearance at a local Hunt Club meeting in August, and ran pleasingly. Moro will probably bo heard of her.
