♦ WAR OFFICE URGENT CONTRACTS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rcc. October 27, 8.15 p.m.) London, October 27. Tho War Office is calling for urgent tenders closing November 8 for 450,000 twelve-ounce tins of meat and 75,000 twenty-four-ounco tins ;* also, closing on January 17, for 750,000 twelve-ounco and 125,000 twenty-t'our-ounce tins. Thero are somo comments on the urgency of the iirst contract, and it is presumed that tho War Offico is hastily filling stores.
