The inundated area between Belfast and ICaiapoi is now practically clear of flood-watera, though, some houses arc still isolated. This morning fears ivcro enh tertaiued that thero would bo a further n overflow of the Waimakariri, but they ? were not realised. Much water is still ■' lying about in parts of tho country back a from the main road, and in some inl" stances owing to tho volmno of water it l * is iinpossiblo to pet to the settlers who have been isolated. Greymouth, October 2G. Tho passenger service from Christchurch to Greymouth was restored yos- '. lorday by lloynihan's coaches reaching o the Bealey. There is ono big slip which, d the passengers have to walk over lo get to tho coaches wait'ii;; on tho other side. Tho slip will" take about four days to clear, and until this is done Moynihan's coaches will mako tho through connection.
