ANXUAL TOTAL OVER .£83,000. (By TclesraDh.—SDecial Correspondent.) Auckland, October 26. The annual amount oi' charities expended in Auckland reaches the total of over ctS3,OOO. This does not inchuio a groat amount of charitable work carried but by organisations which give, personal service or collect food, clothing, etc., for distribution. Leslie Orphrtiiaffo 500 Discharged Prisoners' Aid 99 Total 63,200 This total represents, except in the cnss of charitable aid, hospital, and oM reduced by the sums paid in by those assisted—that is, tho net cost in sonio form or other to the community.
