At an inquest as to the cause of death of Gilks, a farm labourer, on a charge of murdering whom the ivifo of Captain Coventry, lato of the 17th Lancers, is under arrest, tho medical ovideneo showed that tho man's death was duo to a blow. Tho jury gave a verdict to that cflcct, adding that there was not sufficient evidence to show by whom the blow had been struck. Mrs. Coventry, in whoso employ a daughter of Gilks's had formerly been, was remanded.
