9 . SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for a falling barometer everywhere, with high, northerly and westerly winds. Cloudy and unsettled weather, with rain, probable generally. Northerly and westerly winds, strong to Kale, have been oxpericucc'l generally, but a change to the southward occurred on the Kafit Coast daring la,<;t night, with a rapid rise in the barometer in the south.' The barometer lias fallen slightly in the north, cloudy ajid unsettled weather has prevailed, and rain in many parts—rivers in high Hood on the West Coast of the South Island. D. C. BATES.
