The Eastbourne v proposal was to drive spring-piles to " make the wharf workablo by the steam- )' ers in rough weather, but the officers of , tho board were of opinion that these piles would not bo satisfactory, and on the ? harbourmaster's recommendation the : board decided that rope fenders on tho f corners of the wharf be tried.
