LAWN TENNIS.
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. A meeting of tho Management Committea ot' the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association was held last evening. A number o letters were read in connection with the protests received from the Masterton Club. These boro reforenco to the action of t.lio Wellington Association in deciding on January 20, 22, and 23 as the dates for the provincial championship meeting. The committee resolved that it could not alter its decision.
Fifty-three entries were received for tho inter-club competitions. Tho number exceeds last year's entries by 3. It was decided that owing to tho full number of courts at Day's Bay not being available for next Saturday, only the shield, cup, and men's pennant grade matches will bo played.
