SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications arc for high northerly and westerly winds, changing to southerly for a short time, and then backing again. Expect wet and stormy weather generally, and two short cold snaps in the south within the week. The barometer i.9 very unsteady everywhere, falling and rising quickly. A westerly low pressure area has developed in the Bouth. and strong northerly and westerly winds have prevailed, with galea on the West Coast and Stephen Island. Rain has fallen on the West Coast, and cloudy weather lias spread over the Dominion - p. C. BATES. Meteorological Office. Wellington, October 24, 1911.
