There are persistent rumours that the Italian casualties in tlio fighting at Benghazi, Cyreiiaica, total twelve thousand. It is reported that the Arabs massacred all the monks and nuns. At Derna four thousand Arabs helped the Turks in the dcfence of the town, wliicli the Italians bombarded for leu hours. FINANCIAL CRISIS. TURKISH HOUSES FAILING. ~ BANKS HAUD PRESSED. (Rec. October 24, 9.55 p.m.) Constantinople, October 24. Owing to the political situation, a grave financial crisis is imminent. Sevoral failures of important houses Lave already occurred. Tho Bank of Mytilene has suspended payment for a fortnight, owing to tho scarcity of gold, and there, has been a sharp run on tho Bank of Saloniki. AEROPLANE RECONNAISSANCE. TURKISH CAMPS LOCATED. (Rec. October 24, 9.55 p.m.) Rome, October 24. An aeroplane reconnaissance at Tripoli revealed four Turkish camps eight miles beyond the Italian outposts. There have been several reconnoitring encounters in which tho Turkish were repulsed. BRITAIN'S ATTITUDE. London, October 23. Mr. F. D. Acland, Financial Secretary to tho War Office, speaking at Tiverton, Devonshire, said tlio Government would use every effort to restrict the area of fho Turco-Italian war.
