It hns now been ascertained that Mr. Kanders, who disappeared during the Moeraki's last trip from Mclhouruo to the BluiT, was a resident of Wellington. His lnggagc was uddrr-sscd, "L. A. Sundors, %7 Cuba Street, Wellington," and this is where Airs. Sanders, his wife, resides. His ticket was collected when the Moeraki was steaming down tho Yiirra Kiver. Wlion, liowever" the stownrd made tho round the followin" morning, he failed to discover Jlr Kandei-s, and, upon investigation, it was found that the latter's berth had apparently not been used. There is a bare possibility that he niay f havo gone ashoro at Hobart.
