(From Our Special CorrMDondent.i Masterton, October 21. A young man named Frank Carr was charged in the Magistrate's Court this morning, before a bench of justices, with having no Inwful visible means of support. The accused stated that he had money in tho possession of his brother, and other property. Ho was corroborated in this statoment by his brother. The bench dismissed tho case, but advised the accused to get out of town and go to work. Mr. H. D. Hebcnton, who left this morning on a visit to Ceylon, was presented last night by tho members of the Parliamentary Debating Society with a shaving outfit. Mr. Hebenton hopes to be present at tho Durbar in India. The police made a raid on a cottage occupied by a- local resident last night, and seized a quantity of liquor. A prosecution will follow. Much rogret is expressed here bv old identities at tho announcement of tho death at Danncvirke of Mrs. Carvor, relict of tho lnte Mr. B. W. I. Carver.
