It is officially announced that with , regard to the National lnsuranco Bill a i complete arrangement has been reached between Mr. Lloyd-George, Chancellor of . the Exchequer, and tho friendly societies. . Mr. Lloyd-George has promised to meet the points raised at tho recent conferenco of friendly societies at Edinburgh. The amendments agreed to include a provision by which tho emaller societies ~ may insure each other. There is also provision for reduced contributions by masters and men when the employers pay their employees for tho first six weeks' sickness or disableI ment. • With a view to the passing of the Bill in 1911, the Government will next week move a closure resolution, and will ask the House to refer the unemployment part of the measure to tho Grand Committeo, GERMAN SCHEME EXTENDED, - (Rec.
