From Santa, Barbara, California, news has been received that it has been discovered that tho train on which Mr. Taft travelled on tho Southern Pacific railway actually passed over tho dynamito laid on the steel bridge with tho evident intention of destroying tho structure and wrecking the train. A watchman appeared on tho scene opportunely and prevented the miscreant from completing his preparations" for an explosion.
