NOTICE is hereby given .that a Meeting of the Karori Borough Council will bo held at the Council Chambers on TUESDAY, tho 24th day of OCTOBER, 1911, at S o'clock p.m., when the following resolution, which was passed at a Special Meeting of tho Council held on tho 2Gth day of September, 1911, will bo submitted for confirmation as a Special Order:— WHEREAS by poll taken on tho 2Stli day of July, One thousand nine hundred and nine, authority was given to this Council to raise a loan of Twenty-seven thousand five hundred pounds (,£27,500) for the tramway construction and the purchase and erection of Stone Crushing Machinery and appurtenances; AND WHERE. AS in exercise of such power the Council raised tho sum cf twenty-six thousand pounds (.£2G,000); AND WHEREAS the moneys required for the completion of the said works' for which tho said Loan was raised amounts to the sum of i!2S,GSG 3s. Id. and no more, and lliere is a surplus amounting to .£313 lGs. lid., which with moneys received for salo of spoil, etc, which should be credited lo Capital Account, makes the surplus -SSSS 12s. Id. NOW THE COUNCIL HEREBY RESOLVES, by way of Special Order in exercise of the power vested in the Council by Section 105 of tho Municipal Corporation Act, 190S, aud of every ami any other power enabling the Council in that behalf, that the said surplus of ,£SSS lis 4d. shall be expended in the carrying out and completion of the following works, namely— (1) A Pavilion and Tea Room with all necessary adjuncts en the Recreation Ground at an estimated cost of Two hundred and twenty-five pounds (.€225). (2) A concrete wall and suitable gates on the boundary between the Main Roari and the Recreation Ground at an osvinialod cost of tito hundred pounds (.L'2oo). (3) A retaining wall on the north side of tho cutting on the Main Road known as Church Cutting at an estimated cost of thirty pounds {.£3O). _ (■1) Concrete Kcrbing end Channelling along the Main Road to the extent permitted by tho balance of the said sum XaSa 12s. -Id. not required fev the works herein previously specified.
