ANNUAL REPORT N.Z. ASSOCIATION, The annual report of the New Zealand tennis Association, to l>e presented at tho annual meeting to bo held on October 31, states that tho Davis Cup dates have been definitely fixed lor Dceombor ill and 30, 1911, and January 1, 1912, Ilia matches will' be played on tha Lancaster J. ark Grounds, Christchurch, wliero ar« rangonieuts avo already well in hand and tho courts are being prepared. Taylor, lion, secretary, Ims been formed to take clinrgo oi tho contests. i'rom present indications, tho meeting is likely to draw a largo attendancH of the public. It is expectod that several players from Aus. tralia will attend, and tho association has extended an invitation to tho Australasian Association asking that a team of six ladies may bo sent iroin Australia to play a match at Wellington, oither before or after the Davis Cup match, 'the Australasian Association has undertaken to do its best .to arrange for tho visit by a team of ladies and is of tho opinion that as tho New Zealand Management Committee has undertaken to provide tho necessary accommodation at Wellington. for the players, there is a very good prospect of the team being arranged. It has been decided that tho New Zealand championships bo held at Christchurch 011 December 2.1,' 20, 27, and 28, 1911. A visit to Christchurch by Mr. Fisher on behalf of tho committee resulted 111 oilers being received from tho Lancaster Park Board for tho use of part of the grounds of the Lancaster Park for the purpose of tho championship meeting. A site has been reserved adjoining tho Davis.,Cup Court area and four courts wll.Jjc available, The coinmitteo has entered into'an arrangement by which tho company is to prepare tho "grounds for play, and to rcceivo 20 per cent, of the gato takings, alter- the gatekeepers' wages have been deducted. The association is to bear the cost of erecting stands, fences, gateways, laying on of water, ana any other expense nccessary. The statement of accounts submitted shows a loss on the year's working of £25 19s. 9d. It will be noticed that, the income from all sources for the year amounted to .£BS ss. 9d.; that the management expenses amounted to JCS3 15s. 9i1., and presentations, subscriptions, and donations for various purposes amounted to ,£27 9s. 9d., leaving an excess of expenditure over tlio incomo for the year of .£25 19s. 9d. Tho position of the association's nctual working has boon submitted in a form clearly disclosing gain or loss. Under Rule 37 tho subscription for the year 1910-11 was fixed at Id. for p.ich member of clubs alliliated to the various associations. Until the rule caino into operation by means' nf registration, and to enable tho committee lo meet its liminc'al demands, a sum of .£3 3s. was collected from each association. tho amount being subject to adjustment when the actual subscription for the yenr was ascertained. A reference to the balancesheet discloses that t.lio sum of Jll os. 811, is due to be refunded to several aswi.v tions. The committee suggests Hiat tha amount may be held and set a'/ainst tho respective associations' subscriptions for the yenr 1911-12.
