« JAPANESE PLANS. By Telegraph— Press Association— OoDvright (Kec. October 18, 8.50 p.m.) Sydney, October 18. The captain of the Japanese Antarctic exploring ship Kninan Maru has returned from his visit to Japan where ho went to rearrange matters for tho resumption of the expedition. He expects to leave Sydney for Antarctica. in November. The Japanese expedition left Tokio on November 29 last, and sailed from Wellington for Antarctica on February 11. On March 10 an unsuccessful attempt was made to land on an island in the Ross Sea, and on May 1 the expedition returned to Sydney.
