Fcildine, October 19.—Heavy useful rain fell all last, night, and intermittent sunshine and heavy showers prevailed to-day. The indications are still doubtful. Palraerston. Octobcr 16.—Winter weather has been experienced hero to-day, heavy rain falling at intervals. accompanied by a gaJe of wimd. Thiy afternoon there was a hail storm, tho Ptonc3 being li-early ng large as marbles. Much damage wasdono to potatoes, tomato, and similar crops. Tho atmosphere has turned quite co-id. Otaki, Octobcr 18.—Weather boisterous, wind and rain predominating. Hail fell this morning. KaiiifaLl to 9 a.m.. <3Cin. Mastorton, October 18.—Reporting at 6 o'clock to-uight for the preceding 24 hoars tho Ilev. A. llodfje furnished the following summary:—Temperature .in Bhnde, mmiiqum 55.8dcg., minimum 49.4deg.; earth radiation, 38deg.; earth temperature (lit. below surface), 52,6dcg.; wind, light W.; rain, 26 points; weather cold and wintry. Hasting*, Octobcr 18.—Tho weather to-day has been blustery and unpleasant. Shannon, October 18.—Wild and blustering with rain squalls. Featlwrston, October 18.—Gusty ■ winds, v;ith showers during tho morning; fine afternoon.
