LEVIN.

The quarterly meeting of tho LevinOtaki .Methodist Circuit was held at Manakau last week. Twenty-five officials were present. The membership showed an increase of 30 ibr the year. Finances were.. very satisfactory, a credit balanco being shown at both Levin and Otaki. A unanimous invitation was given to tho Kov. T. F. Jones to remain lor a fifth year, and to the Rev. B. V. Blackmore for a second year. Both ministers accepted the invitations. It was resolved to conduct monthly services at Otaki Gorge. Tho chairman intimated that tenders wero being called for a new church at Te Horo. Me?srs. Eichard Praise and F. Penn aro tho official representatives to tho Synod at. Napier and, failing them, Messrs. P. W. Goldsmith and .Tudd. A vote of sympathy was passed to the relatives of the late Mr. J. Iγwin. Thanks wero accorded to tho ladies for entertaining t'ho members at tho quarterly meeting.

FEATHERSTON. Saturday was the concluding day of tho local golf season, when }ho final 36 holes event for tho championship was played, tho first having bocn played on October 7. Tho win Ml to Mr. 0. T. Fenwick for the third year in succession. Details of bsst eight cards wero:— G. T. Fenwick, SID; A. B. Balfonr, 338; A. J. Toogood, 315; Gco. Fenwick, 351; J. W. Card, 3G3; J. T. Bicknell, 371; 13. Speedy, 375; F. Blades, 395. HASTINGS. nnstinpps presented a very busy appearance yesterday in preparation for tho annual A. end P. show, which opens this week. The entries are larger than over before, and as the weather is fiiro there i> every prospect of a succcfsfiil fixture. Practically all the outside entries havo already come to hand, and as tho local arrangements havo been, thoroughly made there is not likely to be any trouble- in gcttins the exhibits into order and ready for judging this morning.
