REVISING VALUATIONS. In Parliament last evening Mr. T. M Vilford notified his intention of asking the Minister for Internal Affairs whether he approves the procedure ndepted by the Valuatian Doparimient, where vovnluatibiLS arc made, and wliethor he docs nut think that the local bo-.lies concerned should bo consulted wlicn anvthinj of the kind is contemplated. Sir. Wiiford cited the caic of a property of 93J acres in the Upper Hint Town 'District, which was valued at .£BSOO and its improvement? at .tIOCO. This had brai revalued without any notification to (he Town lioard, and the area altered to 114 acres. The now valuation was .£6150, with .CII2O for improvements. The greater ari':i was thus ii<vmsv<>d o( a considerably lower viiliif. Mr. Wilford added that the Town Board could have furnished important evidence in this case.
