Mossts. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., renort having held tlioir fortnightly Eale at Ekotahuna yesterday. Entries camo in excess of advertised numbers, and sold freely under tho hammer, sheep in most cases reaching prices above tho vendors' expectations. Thero was a good demand for hoggets of good quality, and likewise for ewes and lambs. Sheen: Hoggets (best). 14s. lid.; other sorts, from 12s. 6d., Us. 2d., 13s. 7d., to 13s. 10d.; cwos and lambs, to 14s. 3d.; wethers, 155.; empty owes, 13s. 6d. to 155.: fat owes, 155., 15s. lCd. to 16s. 6d. Oattlo: Yearling steers, £2 4s. 6d. to £2 lis.; dairy cows (best sorts), to £8; poorer classes, £4 7s. 6d. to £6 155.; mixed yearhags, £2 2s. 6d.; empty cows. £3 2s. 6d. Messrs. Dalgety and Co.. Ltd., report on their Waikauae sale, held on October 10, as follows:—Wo had a fair yarding of sheen, consisting of fat owes, shorn hoggets, woolly hoggets, and wothors, and a good entry of cattle, these being chiefly young steers of good quality. Tho sheep did not meet with much inauiry at auction ,but were nearly nil emitted beforo the day was over. Tho dry weather mado sales difficult. Cattle met a good market, and sold very readily. Medium fat ewes. 17s. 6d.; shorn hoggets, 9s. to 10s.; woolly. 135.; forward wethers, to 17s. 3d. Cattle: Good yearling steers, to £2 16a.; 15 to 18months, £3 to £3 Bs.; fat cows, £5 12s. 6d.; yearling heifers. £2 95.; Jersey bulls, to £5 6a. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report on their sale held at Levin yesterday: —We had a medium yarding of sheep, and a full yarding of cattle. Bidding at auction was rather dull, and lacked animation, but we Quitted most of the stock at satisfactory prices. We yarded some very flno fat cows from tho State farm, which wore well competed for. Ewe hoggots to 95.; forward shorn ewes, Bs. lCd.; fat shorn cwos, 135., 12s. 2d. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At Lovin yesterday wo had good yardings of sheop and cattle. Sheep, at the beginning of the sale, wore dull, but improved lator, and very littlo wont out unsold. Cattlo showed a sharp rise, and evory lot sold at prices mostly in advance of vendors' reserves. Sheep: 2-tooth ewes and lambs, 225. 7d.; aged ewes and lamhs, 175.; empty 2-tooth ewes, 175.; fat woolly owes, 16s. 4d. to 18s. 6d.j fat shorn ewes, 14s. 3d.; oxtra good hoggots, 16s.
