HOSPITAL SATURDAY.
COMPLETE ARRANGEMENTS MADE, TO-MORROW'S PROGRAMME. Arrangements are now complete in regard to Hospital Saturday and Sunday in Wellington. At the meeting ot ladies, held in the Mayor's room at the Town Hall last evening, it was stated that from present appearances the whole affair would be a complete success. Already over .£6O has been contributed, and this sum is made up as follows:— Wellington Harbour Board, -E10; Boxing Club, XZ lis.; Staff Public Works Department, J2l 135.; Imperial Consul for China, t £i; staff, Kempthorne, Trcsser, and Co., 10s.; staff, Odlin Timber Co., .CI; staff, Alliance Assurance Co., .£1; I'hilipps and Pike, XI Is.; Ix>yal Victoria Lodge, Levin, J!1 Is.; staff of_A._L. Kernot, 10s.; Briscoe and Co., 55.; Laery and Co., .El 65.; South British Insurance Co., <£2 25.; collection John-sonvillo-Khandallah Presbyterian Church (per I!ov. Mr. Inglis), X 3 7s. 6d.; staff. George and Kcrslev, .£1 65.; Grocers Union, 10s. fid.; N.TZ. Trawling Co., 10s.; Townsend and Paul, £1 Is.; Nurses Association, ,£3O. The following firms have offered to provide light refreshments for the collectors during Saturday:—Godber's, Cuba Street, Courtenay Place, and Lambton Qnay; Mrs. Leo, The Tiffin, Manners Street; Mrs. Walter Boot, 102 Lambton Qnay; The Burlington Cafe, Willis Street. Refreshments will also be obtainable at the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board' 6 offices in Marion Street. On Sunday afternoon the following bands will take part in a musical programme at Newtown Park, commencing at 3 p.m. -.-Garrison Band; Tramways ■Band, Jupp's Band; Wellington Pipe Band; Central Mission Band; Drum and Fife Band. Besides the above attractions, the Central Mission Band will play in the streets on Saturday ni.gjit, and collections will be taken up. • The Salvation Army Band will play in tho hospital, grounds on Sunday afternoon, and the Pctone Band will give, a concert at Petone. The_ Bijou Theatre Company has decided to give another entertainment on Sunday evening, to which admission will be by silver coin. Collections will be made on Sunday at various churches in aid of the fund_. A detachment of the Wellington Navals has offered to assist the ladies in collecting during Saturday night and Sunday, and their action is much appreciated by the committee. The secretary (Mr. Coyle) wishes it'.to be known that collecting-boxes can be obtained from the board's offices in Marion Street. Following is a list of tho principal collecting stations throughout tho city:— Thorndon Railway Station, Hotel Cecil, Government Buildings, lurkcaldie and Stains, Government Post Office, wharves, Bank of New Zealand. Burlington Cafe, Albert Hotol comer, Upper Willis Street, Cuba and Manners Streets, Veitc.h and Allan's corner, Ghuznee jind Cuba Streets, C'ourlenay Place, Rintoul Street, Newtown School, Newtown Tram Terminus, and Vivian Street, 111 addition to tho above places, citizens may oxpect to be "way-laid" at any spot ill the city by tho collectors, for there are many who have been granted roving commissions. Shortly after the conclusion of the meeting last evening word was received that the members of "Our Miss Gibhs" Comedy Company, now playing in Wellington, had offered to assist the committee in every way possible. It was decided that a fancy dress cricket match should take place between members of the company and the hospital staff nn the Basin Reserve to-morrow afternoon. The charge for admission will be "one shilling, nml flie ladies of the company have offered to take up a collection orn tho ground also. Following is the "Our Miss Gibbs" team Messrs.
