MASTERTON NOTES.
(By Tcloit raph.-Spocial' Correspondent.) Masterton, October 12. The bowling season was opened here to dav in fine weather. ThoVo was a largo gathering of local and visiting bowlers. A homing pigeon match was flown today from Frankton Junction, and was won bv Mr. W. Drake's Sea Queen. Only eight out of *ho thirty-five competing birds rcaohcHl home to-day. The death occurred at Napier this week of Mr. John Yaw, who was forniorty a borough councillor of Mnstwton.
