The British Admiralty has issued a return showing tho Naval expenditure of tho leading Powers for tho current year. Tho figures, with a comparison for last year, are:— 1911-12. 1910-U. £ ■ £ Britain 44,832,047 40,603,700 Franco 16,705,382 15,023,010 Russia 13,270,370 9,723,571 Germany 22,031,788 21,235,090 Italy 8,379,910 7,349,776 Austria-Hungary ... 5,152,332 2,781,5-19 United States .... 26,581,571 27,174,451 Japan ~ 8,803,015 7,590,362 A useful list of the world's Dreadnoughts down to June was recently compiled by Mr. Alan Burgoyne, editor of the "Navy League Annual." It showed that Britain's supremacy in Dreadnoughts will still be unchallenged in 1914 the figures being 32 for Great Britain asainst 21 for Germany, and 33 for that Power and the States taken together. The number which will be in commission bjr the end ot the present year and in 1914 is given as foll0WS:_ 1911. 1914.
