FORECAST AND SUMMARY. Present indications are for rain and cloudy weather generally, with a, further fall in the barometer in moat parts of the country, but a temporary rise is anticipated shortly in the south. High northerly ajid westerly winds will probably predominate, but a change to the southward for a short time may be looked for soon. A westerly storm area has developed, and rain has fallen in many parts of the country. High northerly winds have prevailed, and the barometer Iris fallen everywhere. D. C. BATES. FcUding, October 12.—The anticipated rain did not fall last evening, but it set in late this afternoon. Shannon, Octobor 12.—The weather here is dry ajid warm. Many householders arc short of water, and rain is badly waited by farmers. Otaki, October 12.-Dull, light showers at intervals.
