Very charming was the small bridesmaid, Miss Jocelyn Knight, in ,white muslin. Tho bouquets carried by the bridesmaids were fastened with ribbon in the same pretty shades, and they wore tho gifts of tho bridegroom, necklets of blue onaiuel worked with heliotrope. Mr. Witheford attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr. Hull and Mr. Spraggon were the groomsmen.

Aftor tho ceremony a reception was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Hall, where speeches were made and the usual toasts honoured. Absorbing as aro all Shakespeare's that dealt with last evening is one which throws a spell over the listener from the very beginning. Text-books innumerable have been written about Othello, discussing _ what Shakespeare meant and what he did not mean, splitting hairs and probably attributing meanings which would simply make Shakespeare, did he know, simply stare aghast. In any case, Shakespeare- is, like truth, . manysided, and, listening to the reading last eveping, people could tako him as thev wished.

Jllss S. Raple.r, who read the part of Desdemona, wore a frock of pink satin trimmed with silver net; Sirs. E S Baldwin (Emilia) was in blue satin with white lace tonic; Miss Reading (the herald) in palo blue veiled with liinon.
