PROPOSALS EMPTY AND UNSATISFYING. The .Hastings correspondent of the Napier "Telegraph" says that Mr. Eustace Lii.no has- given the following notice of motion for the next quarterly meeting of the Hustings branch of tho New Zealand Farmers' Union: "That, in tho opinion of this branch of the Fanners' Union, the land settlement proposals contained in the Financial Statement are impracticable, empty, and unsatisfying, and the attention of tli.o Government be drawn to the fact that its amendment to tho land resumption policy contained in the 1003 Act inserted 'to protect the owners' interests' have completely emasculated its power."
