A forco of six thousand armed Royalists, in two parties, under Captains Canincho and Couceiro, is converging on Oporto. The Republican garrison at Chavez, numbering three thousand, has joined the Royalists. Captain Paiva, with a Royalist forco of 2000 men and twelve caiuvon, was welcomed by the townsfolk at Braganza. Tho Royalists have- twenty bulletproof automobiles containing Maxim guns. • SECRET CONCENTRATION. WIDE POPULAR SYMPATHY. (Rec. October 8, 5.5 p.m.) ; Lisbon, October 7. Eight thousand Republican troops aro oh tho northern frontier, across which the Monarchist forces and supplies entered Portugal, Tho Government now admits that 700 Royalists under Captain Camacho havo occupied six towns in tho provinco of Braganza, where they were joined by throe thousand men, secretly concentrated. Another concentration has taken placo at Yinhaes, awaiting the arrival of Captain Couceiro's column. The Republican troops have retired on Vinhaes, hoping thus to surround and capture tho Royalists before they are able to Toturn to Spain. Tho Government troops killed three men who wero found damaging tho railway. "NIPPED IN THE BUD." ROYALISTS RE-ENTER SPAIN. (Rec. October 9, 1.5 a.m.) Lisbon, October 8. ' It is officially stated that tho now Monarchist invasion has been nipped in the i bud. Tho battleship Vasco da Ganiai has arrived at Oporto. A naval contingent was landed and soveral Monarchist deserters were arrested. Telegrams from Braganza assert that tho Royalists have been beaten and have reentered Spain with tho loss of thirty men. EX-KING AT RICHMOND. (Rec. October 8, 5.5 p.m.) London, October 7. Ex-King Manuel of Portugal is still at his residence at Richmond, eight miles out of London, to which ho roturned a day or tiro ago. ■
