It is officially staled that tho Italians havo occupied the town of Tripoli. After Italian sailors had been landed at tho Sultanich fort, a number of Arabs belonging to tho neighbourhood proceeded to tho Italian flagship and tendered thoir submission to tho German Consul-General. They asked tho Admiral to assume control of public order, the Turks having abandoned tho town. Further detachments of bluejackets, guns, and mitrailleuses have been landed, and the occupation has been completed without incident. The Sultanich fort has been garrisoned by the Italians. ■ Turkish Dead Buried. Admiral Favnrolli, Commander-in-Chief of the Italian naval force, spared the Governor's palace. The bombardment did not injuro foreigners' residences or any of tho inhabitants. The Italians buried the Turkish dead with military honours, and conveyed twenty badly wounded men to the fleet hospital. The Turks removed those less seriously injured than tho one 3 taken to hospital. It is declared by the Turks that resistance was impossible, owing to the inferiority' of their numbers and equipment. No Resistance. Tho newspaper "Giornale d'ltalia" states that 6ailors landed from the warships Guiseppe Garibaldi (7291 tons), Varesu (7294 tons), and Francesco Feruccio (7294 tons), and explored the town of Tripoli. They did not meet with any resistance. The party visited the Italian Consulate and a church, in which the Franciscan nuns and monks were found safe. The city has 'been abandoned by tho Turks. The Government has peremptorily forbidden the warships to carry out military operations on the Adriatic and lonian coasts. . TREACHERY ALLEGED. WHITE FLAG FIRED UPON. Rome, October 6. It is officially announced that the Turks treacherously opened firo at San Giovanni di Medua, a small seaport in Albania, upon an,ltalian vessel flying the white flag. ( The destroyer ATtigliero, which is patrolling to prevent tho smuggling of arms into Albania, intervened. She was slightly damaged, and tho commander wounded. TRIPOLI TOWN OCCUPIED. i CRUISERS RECALLED FROM PREVESA. (Rec. October 8, 5.5 p.m.) Rome, October 7. Admiral Auby has occupied Tobruk, in the Gulf of Bombah.
