"WITH MR. MASSEY TO A MAN.

POLITICAL FEELING IN THE NORTH (By Teleeraph.—Special Correspondent.) Auckland, October 7, At a meeting of the executive of the Auckland section of the Political Deform League last evening, encouraging reports were received from a number of ,tho suburban and country constituencies, Special mention was made of the fact that the platform of the Reform party was mooting with enthusiastic support throughout tho province, from the ftorth Capo to tho Mokau, it being apparently felt by tho country that tho Opposition had presented the only real policy now before the electors, and that tho party's ,aa>oca_cy of.Uftotopenjpgjnp; of tho Crown and Native lands for settlement on tho optional tenure, with limitation of tho area, was in the true interests of the Dominion. Indignation was also oppressed at the attempts mado in the Bouso by tho member for Lyttelton and others, to represent tho Opposition as being against limitation of area, whereas, as a matter of fact, a plank in the party's platform provides for tho O.R.P. tenure, with limitation of area. It was stated in various reports that a groat revulsion of feeling against the present Government was Doing evidenced throughout the Auckland provinco. Committees were being formed in ovcrv eleccorato, and were working hard. Tho utmost enthusiasm seemed to prevail cmywhere, and, in the districts throughout the area represented by the executive, it was confidently anticipated that a striking victory would be obtained for the Opposition. A report from one of the most imooitant country constituencies contained the following passage :—"Tho farmers and settlors throughout this district are with Mr. Massey to a man, and the Labour vote will go to the .Opposition also. Tho country feels that the destinies of tho Dominion will bo in safe hands with Mr. Massey in power."
